Leaving Fulton- 8-22

We woke to a decided chill in the air - 51 degrees. We here ties to a free dock, no amenities so hot breakfast for us. Coffee, bacon and eggs,  everything stowed in fleeces and I had long pants on we called the Lock tender at lock 2 and Tom freed us from our rather craggy wall.

Lock 2 was right in front and we made short work of going through and started the 10 mile trip to the last lock on the Oswego River Canal system.  The wind was calm the water not revealing the strong current so all along the banks we could see the reflection of the trees and sky. There were Brant geese ( a rare sight) as well as Canada Geese, a wide variety of ducks American Black Duck , Mallards, Northern Pintails, Mottled Ducks (got out my guide book just to make sure. We also were fortunate to see several species of Herons
Great Blue Herons are my favorites but Little Blue herons and Green herons made their appearances. I took so many pictures and missed the opportunity and just enjoyed the scenery and everything going on around us.
