Ilion Ny to Little Falls NY Saturday 8/25

Saturday 8-26
We took a short walk into Ilion - I went to re-provision and Tom went to find the Remington Firearms Museum. Getting back to the boat - with laundry still to do we decided to take advantage of the laundry room and them move on. ( Tom saw the museum was very small and decided to pass.)
We motored down the river passing several boats going west and approached lock 18. There is a Canal Tour boat the goes through the lock, we waited for it to catch us and had and audience to watch us catch ropes and start down. It was interesting and I learned several new things about the canal.  We stopped at Little Falls, west of Lock 17 ( more on that Monday ). It was very hot and sticky so the air condition was popped in - we took a walk into town and met up with Terry and Suzanne - catching up on news and return for a peaceful night on the canal.

a bright yellow bowling pin, bat ?? It looked brand new.

These are zebra muscles - they go down several feet
found out this post - there are layers of them in the canal walls -
are how barges tie us and hold their position.
