Time drifts by while your having fun....

Let see... We left Lady's Island on 7/6... first stop St Johns Yacth Harbor then on to Sean Carol Yacthing on 7/8... we were there until 7/16 when we moved back to St. Johns waiting for our Chart Plotter to be returned. We went to Beaufort SC twice, once to pick up our car and once for a great visit with Gene and Debra Summerford and family.  Finally on 8/3 we were heading north again.

Magnolia blossom. I love the huge trees

always we have dolphins

yep we climbed to the top... Have to admit that my legs were incredible sore

I dislike cleaning the fridge. As you can see it is a deep box
in which food gets lost

I know that it looks like they are different sizes
one is blocked one I need to still do

we went on several cross country jaunts to retrieve the car.
could not resist this sign in a small South Carolina town

One wonderful thing about Charleston
Starbucks and I found one that did the Clover brewed coffees

Back at Lady's Island Marina .... then off to Charleston

I know I complained about the cold in Michigan, both Tom and I did. However, back in Beaufort... our first week back the temperatures were at all time highs. 106 degrees is just way to hot. Tom continued with his research as to the best place to have our rigging checked out. With several recommendation for Sean Carroll Yacht service located in the Charleston Harbor marina we headed north.
Our first stop was at St Johns Yacht harbor on St. Johns Island. We really like this marina even if their in a bit of a fix have lost the bridge that connects them by car to the main road. Currently you need to park on the other side and use the boardwalk to get to and from the slips... this is about a mile walk. They did have a gulf cart and we were lucky to hitch a few rides, but it was good exercise for both of us.
We had a failure on our chart plotter so that had to be packed up and sent off to be repaired...7 to 10 days before it would be fix. Tom worked on minor items here and there and Sean finally gave us the go ahead to cross the harbor and go into Charleston Harbor Marina. I will say our view was impressive. We could see all of the displays at the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum. Very disappointed with the Marina itself. They are not keeping up with the maintenance of the docks, their are no locks to keep the public off the docks, lights on the walk ways are broken and the Pump out boat is not always available because it is full. Their solution is for the boaters to go across the harbor to another marina to pump out...
Sean did an excellent job of installing our VHF antenna, wind indicator, wind vane and the inspection of our rigging. We left Charleston Harbor Marina returning to St Jons Yacht H
Sunset from our slip at Lady's Island Marina

along with the heat, we had massive thunderstorms

of course i just was a knitting fool ... I did get several
projects finished... these legwarmers went to Jennie

Tom and Tom

Leaving Lady's Island SC for Charleston SC and the continuing
saga of "fix it"

just a quick nap

I finished this ONE legwarmer in Michigan only to
find that I left the other ball of yarn on the boat.
Back on the boat I have the yarn... the pattern is sitting
on the table in Michigan

I made Meghan's sweater while she was in College
I finally finished Jennie's in time for Meghan's wedding

I love Wood Storks

Sorry, there just has not been Wi-fi

August 26th 1:09 am Oriental North Carolina
Finally can get on line, but have no idea how long this will last. Our last post was on the trip back home ... in May. Since then
We made it to Michigan, opened up the the house, had a wedding, suffered through cold weather, sold my car and decided to bring Tom's car back with us. We drove back to Lady's Island Marina, opened up the boat, made a maintenance "to do " list, Left for Charleston SC to have Wind vane, new VHF antenna installed and rigging inspected.... rocker switch on our chart plotter broke, had to send that out to get fixed... in all a 3 week wait ....
Moving on we got to New Bern NC... Toms toilet malfunctions... gauges still not functioning and we still needed the rigging worked on. (the Rigging is all the metal wires that hold the Mast up and steady...)
Moved to Oriental to have rigging completed, bow thruster broke... since we needed to haul out to fix bow thruster we are getting bottom painted.

We are still on our way to Norfolk and the Chesapeake bay
That is a quick version of the last two months... Now in Pictures all the fine details
This is the first time in two years I got to see my flowers in bloom
Even though it was 'cold" by our standards... in the 40's and 50's with frost warnings,
I still had Peonies, roses and poppies.

Meghan and Eric Happily Wed... we had to use the pavilion as it was
raining but it was a great day

Our turkeys came calling everyday we were home. They seemed very
put out that we were back.

House closed up, neighbors on alert, time to head back to the boat and warm weather
