halloween plus

This is Meghan's beehive costume

We met Pat and Howard, Chris and Arnie at the Red Inn in Rockford.
The food and service were excellent.

I had a rough night, finally gave in to the cold. Up every hour trying all sorts
of remedies. Finally gave up and went into the kitchen to make coffee and this
was sitting on my kitchen table.  It is a dead mouse head.
Life is full of grins and giggles.

sunset at the beach, rainbows included

Went to Lake Michigan to see the sunset, caught a small shower and rainbows and of course feathers and fall leaves. There was a little excitement with a wind surfer then home for hot coffee.
Tom is busy sanding the caulking off where the tow rail was. We have the Nav. station and slowly things are coming together.  Today he built a wooden stand to hold the out board engine. Leaves to wet to rake- maybe we will have a dry weekend.

Images of Fall

Posted by Picasa
I was listening to the storm pass by, and decided to gather these pictures together for this collage. I think that the leaves will be stripped off the trees in the morning. I am glad I got out today and took some pictures.

Tom has been working on the boat every day. Most of his efforts are in taking things apart and taking things off. He has the old teak tow rails off, we are replacing them with metal ones, and most of the interior is stripped bare. We are going to reupholster the main salon cushions so all of them are home now, and filling up the basement.

The work goes on.

pictures of fall

Sunday, got up early to get the paper and coffee. There was morning mists on the small pond close to us and frost on the leaves. We still have color on the trees but the leaves on the ground are brown. Soon we will have a hard frost, the back to normal time.

This is the season of change

windy sunset on Lake Michigan

Today we had high wind warnings - it makes for great waves on the lake. As you can see some people like getting wet with really cold water.

There was also two jet skis out riding the waves. There were a half dozen monarch butterflies and various other flying insects that finally gave up fighting the wind.

All it all it was a great walk on the beach. The last pictures are of the home made bread I baked this after noon.

Niagra falls and Home

We were in Washington DC and no water in the Reflecting Pool and we arrive in Niagra and it is raining - no rainbows in the mists.
