Morehead City to Swansboro NC - it is getting warmer

This morning it was suppose to be 46 degrees instead we woke to 37 degrees which did not bode well for a warm day of travel. We are also having to deal with tides and currents. When we came in we had over 12 feet of water under us, this morning only 8. Lee came out and helped toss lines, we were quickly on our way and to our surprise the wind was not up very much, the sun warm so we (I) was chilly but not cold like yesterday.  Today we travel down the Bogue Sound.  It is very shallow, we were running in to 6'9" of water and trying to stay as close to the red side of the channel as possible  I understand why many commercial shellfish harvesters do their work standing in the water.  the water has a different green color to it and you can see the sand bar beneath then gradually forming sand bars then islands. There are dolphins in the sound, non of which would pose for a picture. The Day got warmer and by the time we arrived at Swansboro we where shedding our coats. Dudley's marina has a courtesy car and we went into town with Dotty and Hass. It was only a 30 NM run today but it was a good one.

yesterday when we arrived this was barely visible

Skye leaving Morehead Yacht Basin
The Morehead Railroad Bridge - This is an old bridge

We are quickly joined by other boaters racing the weather
to get south

I have no idea what these birds are - maybe pelicans - ??
