Rainy day in Georgetown SC

Well its cold, I know quite complaining - woke at 2:39 AM to the grind of a bow thruster as the shrimp boat  parked near by left on its early morning run. Then the rain started in earnest. Around 7 AM another shrimp boat came in and peeking our heads out we realized how high the tide was. We needed to fill our propane tanks so Tom dressed in foul weather gear and ventured out walking several blocks through flooded streets and back. His shoes are still drying out on the table. There are dozens of boats anchored out and I think every available slip in town is filled as boaters sought shelter from cold wet windy weather.
Last night we ate at Aunys, as small restaurant with excellent southern fried chicken, sweet potatoes, butter beans, sweet potato pie - it was great. The stores were not open so when the rain let up around 2 we went with the crew of Skye to shop.  Tom bought a warm sweat shirt top, I got two fleece tops and warm socks, I also purchased yarn, something warm to work with on deck. Dotty gave me a neat and easy pattern for an afghan,  I am hoping that by the time I finish it I won't need the extra warmth. There is a local book shop where I found the New York Times then we went to the Georgetown Rice Museum.
Tom and Has planned our next few days, then we all went to the Krazy Fish restaurant for dinner - again another stupendous meal.

Tomorrow 11-16 is going to be chilly but no rain - we hope - maybe even some sun. PLEASE
making our way south

  1. Looks like y'all are processing well. I heard yesterday it was raining in Beaufort. I hope the sun comes out to warm you both.
