Unstuck - Cape Fear River to St James Marina

We are unstuck - and moving very cautiously now, Has and Dotty went on so we are on our own treading our way around the shoals and sandbars to Cape Fear River. The current in the river is considerable and we picked up speed and company. The ship channel has large ocean going vessels traveling to and from Wilmington.  Even in this river with 45' under our keel we were cautious. We finally made it to the Lower Swash channel and headed to our over night berth at St. James Marina.

The local pelican population really liked this boat

This really did look like a bird

This is one way to make sure your utilities poles
are above high tide

We see all kinds of unusual things like sky divers -
