Our First ride on the subway 9/12/2012

I purchased a AAA guide to New York so with Josh's help we got to our first subway station, bought our Metro cards and waited for our first train. The tunnels are very warm with rushes of air when the trains arrive. The subway cars are air conditioned which is nice after waiting awhile in the heat. They are not what you see in the TV shows ( of course) they are clean and people helped us out when we asked questions. The trains are loud and rumble along in the dark with flashes of light, lurching from side to side. I don't think it is something I would want to do every every day however it beats walking.
