Wednesday 8/3 Petoskey - leaving Petoskey Thrusday

Wednesday was cloudy, but no rain. We decided to stay put because of the forecast of high winds and large waves on Lake Michigan.

Tom and I went for our evening walk - went to town to dinner at a pub, mailed some post cards and walked back. Up hill then down hill, I am getting my exercise

Thursday sunrise was clear, no clouds, no wind, no waves. We are leaving for Beaver Island anyway.

We could see the fog trapped in the valleys waiting for the sun to burn through. Little Traverse Bay was calm, everyone was motoring.

It was hard to distinguish the water from the sky, everything ran together.

Then the bugs started coming, millions of tiny flying creatures. Tom said to ignor them, they didn't bite but even the spiders found the wealth of food over whelming. I could not stand it. I could feel them and had to go down below. Raid helped a little but not much.

We finally saw the Harbor for Beaver Island and the bugs died off.
