Heading North to find cooler weather, but not to cold

Saturday August 9th,
We cast off our lines, leaving Boca Chica Navy Marina. We had a wonderful stay there meeting new boating friends.  Barb, the dock master was wonderful through all our trials and tribulations, we hope to return this winter.
It is hot here... water temp is 95 degrees. We had a breeze most of the day, but not enough to sail by. We are glad to be on the move learning how Cool Hand Too handles in different seas and wind. We were surprised by the number of boats we saw, many of them fast fishing boats that don't think twice about their wake... oh well.

We decided to stop out side of Boot Key, finding a hole in the Lobster pot field, we dropped anchor for the night. Tom decided that our main sail was not in the track correctly so we spent about an hour getting it put to rights. Dinner under a full moon with a glorious sunset ... if only we could get a cool breeze.

Another hot day in paradise.. heading north.
