First some repairs, adjustments, shuffling, then we are off

Hello again from Key West.  Thursday 8/7/2014 Key West Harbor
We have moved 2.2 nautical miles to Key West Harbor to have some electrical work done on CHT. We took our Ray Marine Chart plotter, AIS and Sirius weather from CH and needed to transfer it to the systems on the new boat. Tom wisely choose to have a professional tug and pull, pinch and prod the wires into place. We still have a small hiccup in the system but a solution is in the offing and only effects the chart plotter at the nav. station down in the salon. Tomorrow we will head back to Boca Chica Navy Marina for one last night, park the car in storage, do a final load of wash then we take off for the deep blue waters heading north.

To catch up... Tom had shoulder surgergy on 7/24. He still has a twang of pain, but in a different spot now, but his recovery has been fast. and he is glad that it is over.
Our friends Tom and Joy of S/V Kokopelli - we met in Kemah-  have caught up with us here at BCNM. We have enjoyed showing them Key West. They have rested up and will be joining us on Saturday heading North and hopefully to some cooler weather.

I continue to knit, adding items to the Christmas stash, but I am also knitting placemats and bathmats for our new home. I will say that it is a joy to take a shower on our boat. No I do not let the water run but it is nice to have everything close by, in air conditioning. We have a sence of home, or the normal things you do in a home enviroment. You have no idea how trying it is to take showers in public spaces all the time, especially here on the base. There is no air conditioning and you are in a sauna both inside and out.
I discover new things every day. The new stove has different levels for the over rack is the latest discovery.

Our next post should be North and hopefully Fort Laurderdale. It will be fun to visit there again.

Tom recovering the day of surgery

pair of Leg warmers

to block the sun coming through the hatches, I use pieces of material
placed between the screen and hatch. It cut down on the heat.
We do need to replace a few of the hatches, bummer

TV mounted .... now we have three.
Odd we never had three at home.....

CHT leaving Boca Chica on Wednesday to have some work done
Mirabella Lace Scarf, finished for Christmas Stash

I found a coke Zero bottle with my name
There are lizards everywhere, but every time
I try and photograph them they race
away light their tails are on fire.
I finally got a couple of photos.

We have have a number of
thunder storms come through
the area. We are getting very good
at counting between light and sound
I missed going to the Audubon House and will make it one
of my first stops when we come back this winter
