Road Trip

The best laid plans.... and you forget something.
We left early Sunday 5/5 to return to Fort Myers and continue our Sailing adventure.
We had a wonderful visit with Meghan (our daughter) and Eric in Carmel, exchanging  birthday gifts and Mom's day gifts. I received a fantastic Zingermans basket ... I will share with Tom.
Back on the road we decided to call it a night in Lebanon Tn.  It was there we realized Tom's computer was still in Michigan.  A rough night's sleep and we headed back to Michigan, the weather matching our mood. It rained most of the day.  As with all road trip and having already crossed the same territory  we noticed a few strange billboards, interesting town names and Paw Paw.  This is a little off the track.. Paw Paws are a fruit, I didn't not know that. I googled and found the following information... One source said the taste was custard like, Banana  mango, cantaloupe like. It is the largest edible tree fruit native to North America. found in 25 states. I am now on a search for fresh Paw Paws.

We arrived home again on Monday, got a good nights rest, made a list and double checked everything twice before leaving on Tuesday morning. A quick stop at the Hyundai dealer to fix our heat shield and we were off again. It was a beautiful day for traveling. I enjoyed seeing the progression of spring growth as we made our way south. The trees were in bloom, wildflowers in the fields and great white clouds  flying on clear blue skies. It was great to see fresh plowed fields- the rain that flooded the rivers has receded and left a rich colorful vista for us to enjoy.
A cool building

coming into Kentucky
