Heading north on the ICW

We are off and boating again. Tom decided to take the ICW and really give our new transmission a run through. We left Saturday morning, Riva and Dale came and got the keys to our car and tossed off bow lines. I was sad to be leaving Fort Myers. I enjoyed exploring the surrounding area and there is still a lot for us to come back to.

Saturday was a long day but the heat was not intolerable as we had a good stiff breeze all day. We also were fortunate that all the bridges opened on demand so no jockeying around, trying to hold position. The bad news is everyone in a boat was out and going great guns. We were rocked to and fro in their wakes.
We found a little spot in Roberts Bay outside of Venice Florida to anchor out for the night. We had come 57 nm in the "ditch" and it was good to be underway again.
Sunday was just HOT. Very little breeze and finally around 2PM we decided to find a marina  plug in the air and chill out.
We are in Bradenton Beach at least for tonight, maybe tomorrow. We are looking for a three day window to cross the "armpit" of Florida, maybe with a stop in Tarpon Springs before the leap.

our route for two days and 70 plus miles was not as straight
The Osprey in Moss Marina, I will miss it's morning calls
