Birds, more birds, and Birds at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge

When we got to the Refuge we stopped at the visitors center to get our bearings and find how to go about visiting this park. They have several walking trails, but the thought of stumbling on an Alligator was not my cup of tea and with the clouds gathering over head we opted for the Black Point Wildlife drive. WOW.
BIG PINK BIRDS - I got out several places, they didn't get skiddish and fly away.  This is just a smidgen of the pictures I took.
Roseate Spoonbill- when feeding it sweeps its bill from
side to side

Tricolored Heron
Great White Heron
White Ibis with Spoonbills

  1. Laura, Roseate Spoonbills! Wow. All of these are beautiful. Two of the postings' pictures came out. The third doesn't show on my screen, I just have red x boxes. I can only imagine.
