Day at the Witte Museum with Jennie and Josh

The wedding week is speeding by. Meghan and Eric have joined Dee and we have been working through some last minute details. Today Jennie found the perfect purple sparkling shoes. Josh and Jennie picked up their unity candle and had an appointment with their photographer to take some pre-wedding fun pictures.
They picked the Witte Museum and the South Texas Heritage Center in San Antonio. The museum is an eclectic mix of fine art, dinosaurs, and exhibits tracing the wild and vivid land of South Texas. They had fun and Tom and I enjoyed the exhibits

San Antonio's annual Fiesta celebration has a long
tradition of saluting patriotism and history. In the early days the
military provided horses, wagons and bands to march in the parades. Today
an official military coordinator is appointed and all branches
of the military participate in the celebration
From 1909 through 1970 the order of the Alamo invited the daughters
of military officers to participate in the coronation as Duchesses of the Armed
Forces, whose themes celebrated patriotism of the military.
These are coronation robes worn by the duchesses
