Reedville Va to Deltaville Va Wednesday 10-17

We woke Wednesday morning to mists, the sounds of fishing boats setting out, birds calling from shore. The place that we anchored was really quite lovely, I even saw an Eagle and heard its screech in the early morning air. Our neighbors all set out early, but I decided on a hearty breakfast and to enjoy the relative calm and quite of the river.  We decided on a short hop over to Deltaville, VA - 26 nautical miles- we are going to stay for a day or two to get laundry done, lay in supplies, visit the local West Marine.
When we did set out we found a large schooner was grounded and hoping the tide would lift him free. The fleet was out already, no heady fishy, salty smell this morning as we left. The center board finally came loose again :).  We had no problem approaching and entering our temporary home. We are at Regatta Point Marina, wonderful grounds, a car to use tomorrow, nice laundry room, just a good place to be.  The local restaurants will come and pick you up. We had a great meal at Toby's restaurant  Next stop Hampton VG then the ICW  and dismal swamp. Keep us in your thought NO MORE BOTTOM BUMPING.
Calm and Peaceful

  1. Great pics Laura. Tell Tom not to worry too much about the centerboard. They always jam for a while after you connect with the bottom. Eventually, they free themselves. Stay warm, and safe travels.
