the ice cometh 1/21/2012

Hello - sun is shinning so I ventured out. Our morning doves were waiting for the other birds to knock some seeds down from the feeders.

Ice is starting to form along Lake Michigan. It is around 4' out from the shore. I am cautious and make sure there is sand beneath me at all times.

The sound of the waves is different now. You hear the chunks hitting, and under water whoosh and then the splash. It is its own unique orchestration.

Might have a good sunset tonight. If so more pictures.

Sunday - gosh we have snow - and sun

Went for a walk to knock the snow off the satellite dish, then in the woods. Didn't go far as the snow is falling from the branches in clumps. But a few good pics.

another Sunday - and Snow

Finally went out to feed the birds and knock off the snow. As you can see it was a cold, wet endeavor.  Looks like we are going to get more snow tonight.

Snow Day -

Some of you might find this funny - I went to Burger King, through the drive in, and ordered a cheeseburger with a coke. Well I got to the window, slide mine window open. The girl opened her window and a ton ( no exaggeration) fell into my car, into my lap, and I let out a loud yelp. The girl looked at me and said ( no joke ) "That will be $4.25"  - I looked at her and said the money is buried under the snow.  - Have to love Michigan.

I went walking around this morning and took some pictures of the snow. Wish the sun was shinning, but still some good shots. For those of you down south in the warm sun - it is 4:19 and still snowing.
