first night and Moving to Waterside marina Norfolk VA

Our first night and we have reached Red Buoy 36 or mile zero on the ICW (inter coastal waterway). Across the way was Norfolk they were having a wine festival, the air was adrift with music and lights dancing on the water.
We made a reservation at the Waterside Marina the next day, so bobbed the night away on our anchor. The wind picked up quite a bit 10 kts and with gust to 15kts. We were traveling with the crew of Skye, and while they got settled into the Marina we went to get Diesel - oops. Calling ahead they said they had a small fishing boat and he would be gone before we got there. The fairway is very narrow, wind coming in and pushing us into the docks, where there are a mega yacht, fishing boat, sports boat and catamaran. Tom tried to get us turned around, but the wind was making it impossible and we are horizontal in a vertical space. I scrambled getting lines switched and tossed to the guys on the dock, Fishing boat scrambled out of the way, I ran to the bow to keep us off mega yacht and some how we got turned around and at the fuel dock. Leaving was no piece of cake either - but Cool Hand has no new scratches, Tom and I have a few more gray hairs.
Getting into our slip across the way proved to be uneventful and we were off exploring Norfolk. They have a Mermaid statue thing going on so I have a few pictures of them. Our big adventure was going to see the USS Wisconsin.... That was amazing pics on next blog.
