USS YORKTOWN (CV-10) "The Fighting Lady" Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. SC

Wednesday 11-21 - The sun is shining again - still a little chill in the wind but we are off exploring again. This time we have Martin and Bridget Green S/V Shin Dera with us.
Talk about a small world, they are from England, bought their boat in Muskegon - worked on it in Torenson Marine - took off on their adventure 6-30 a day after us. We finally meet in SC. It was lovely sharing our adventure with them, swapping stories about places we both have been, people we both know.
Our first stop was Patriots Point. There are three ships, The aircraft carrier USS YORKTOWN,  Destroyer USS LAFFEY and a submarine USS CLAMAGORE. On the Yorktown they have a congressional Medal of Honor Museum, that is a place to stand and be thankful for all that our service men and women do to keep us free.
The Yorktown is HUGE -  lots of stairs, hallways, stairs, rooms, more stairs, hallways. It boggles the mind to think of all the men who served on her, living their lives, within the confines of this ship, afloat, traveling from one assignment to another.
The photos I am posting are a small glimpse to what the ship is like.
