There are a lot of interesting houses along the ditch, some I would love to see the inside of, others - well maybe not. We are seeing more stilt houses, built up to compensate of high tides and ocean surge. The next challenge was the Pine Island Cut or what is referred to as the "Rock Pile" a three mile stretch 350.1 to 353.1 that is narrow and with submerged rocks. Everyone talks about it, there are notes in Active Captain and the Dozier waterways guide. I found it very picturesque, we went through at low tide the shallowest was about 8'9" but we stayed in the middle and watched the signs. Skye went in front of us and we slowed when she did, taking our time. Apparently a large yacht that was behind us decided that full speed ahead, get out of my way on his loud speaker was good boating manners. We only gave a little ground and were rocked over to 8' shoal, Tom surprisingly was very calm about it and I was the one that would have like to put a flare up his tail pipes. Need to get a bull horn to yell at people. :)
We made it to our berth for the next two days. Going to do laundry and set in some supplies, get propane maybe go see the ocean..... that is just a big maybe.
For now it is warm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
