We finally confirmed our slip at Cooley's Landing a city owned Marina. A note on Lauderdale Marina - they have no, I repeat, No concept of what a real marina should offer for 3$ a foot. The bathrooms are filthy and the showers - well bathing in public would be a better alternative. The staff will cater to mega yachts and fisherman. Our slip was subject to constant wakes, and the yacht next to us was not tied in correctly so it rubbed against the pilings creating a forlorn walrus -elephant sound. You can tell I was not a happy camper.
Tow Boat US is wonderful - George came and after we let go of lines from the dock we were in his more than expert hands.
To be towed, Towed in the rain, in a current, in a narrow river through traffic, with bridges in between - well we arrived safe and sound - wet - but we are in a very nice marina.
I will admit the deck was slippery, and I almost fell in tossing our lines, slight knee twist and will nurse it for a few days.
Our repair person is going to be out later today so hopefully we will have a better idea on our delay.
Good news I finally found Cran-Lemonade at the local Win- Dixie. There are small silver linings to the clouds on our horizon. No weather window for the rest of the week, so it is back to doing laundry and getting ready to go again.
