Fort George River To St. Augustine December 3rd

Monday morning found us surrounded by dark rain cloud and  cool winds. We put on the long sleeves and laid out our foul weather gear, raised anchor and started out. Today our goal was St. Augustine where we had a mooring ball reserved for two days.
Most of our journey was down To the St. Johns River passing Jacksonville taking us under several highway bridges with 65' clearance. Cool Hand tops out at 60' but it is always a little unnerving to go under these bridges. Our First bridge that morning was the Sisters Creek Highway bridge, a double Bascule bridge. We didn't have to wait very long and slipped on bye with out any trauma. I always find the signs on the bridges interesting, there are a few below.
We had several shy porpoise swim by, I believe they have some kind of radar and know when I have the camera out. I love watching the pelicans and Osprey are plentiful. Tom and I have watched them fish, diving in the water and in the air shake the water free from their feathers. It is also disconcerting to see the birds on sand bars a couple of yards away from us as we are going down the ICW.

Some time today we will be rained on

There are lots of topless palm trees

Three Sisters Bridge

this is a boat deck
apparently there is a bug problem here
the whole front of houses are screened in.
Of course we all know how I feel about bugs, I am looking
into sealing up our cock pit.

Osprey
have no idea why but along one land cut there were wash tubs
nailed to tree stumps.
