Our daughter Jennie and future son-in-law Josh are here for a visit. We made reservations at Bubba Gumps for dinner and fireworks at the Kemah Boardwalk.
In the late 1990s, Kemah continued to expand and began to be known as a touristic and recreational hot spot. This occurred when Landry’s Restaurants [3] opened up Kemah Boardwalk [4].[11] The Kemah Boardwalk now includes amusement rides [12] for tourists and residents to enjoy.[13] The Boardwalk also has numerous restaurants, majorly owned and operated by Landry’s Restaurants, Inc. Furthermore, the Kemah Boardwalk also gives guests the opportunity to stay in Kemah at the Boardwalk Inn [5], and also to shop at the local retail shops and kiosks [6]
Arriving at 5 PM, there was already a back up of traffic, nevertheless we circled around and found a reasonably close parking space and started our adventure. Early evening temperatures were still in the 90's and after a debate about the merits of roller coasters and other thrill rides we opted for the tamer Ferris wheel, cool breezes and view.
We decided (wisely) not to try and take Cool Hand out into the Bay. We are waiting for our new anchor to arrive, so we would have no way to anchor out. Coming back into the inlet and getting through Clear Lake to our marina, in the dark with hundreds of other boats also seemed more of a challenge than backed up traffic.
A good time, great company ....
Happy 4th to everyone
