This is at the begining of the hike UP to the fort.
Ok - the view was wonderful - but I also had to stop along the way
This statue always seems to have a bird on its head
Cool Hand at anchor - I am almost there.
This tree is pictured in a photo from 1860 - only a sapling then
They do several re-enactments at the fort - this was marching drill
Tom volenteered to be part of their drill - something was said about a 5 year committment
There was a demonstraction of a trap door springfield - real weapons - loud noises.
All of the buildings in the fort are furnished the way the resident soldiers and offices would have lived in 1860
We ended our tour of the fort with iced tea at the Tea Garden - Then it was hike all the way down.
