Rough start, but oh what a finish ... South of St. Augustine

We are still moving north on our journey to LEAVE Florida. Today we woke to the sound of put put motors, garbled talk, splashes and clinking. Much to our surprise we found an anchored Cool Hand Too attacks shrimp and we were soon surrounded by net tossing shrimpers. We ate breakfast, took pictures, listen to and exchanged banter, then when we knew we could get a bridge opening off we went, weaving our way around the small boats, all closing in for the un-netted space we had occupied.

What was an interesting start, got a little testy, we have been out doing this now for 4 days, in the humid heat... and well.... to say misery loves company--- we bumped and bumped hard. It did not help that the bridge tender told us the obvious, we were the wrong side of the channel marker. Tow Boat to the rescue... Koo doos to them for their prompt arrival and getting us unstuck.

So off we go again... storm clouds threatened but we only had a short spit of rain all day. Again it was a day of Osprey, Egrets, Herons, an Eagle, Dolphins, ending with Rosy Spoonbills. We dropped anchor south of St. Augustine, had the river police tell us to move further off the channel :(  then settled in. Tom did a few cleaning chores while I cooked dinner. We had a delightful call from Jennie (our daughter), watched a glorious sunset, knitted, saw some Rosy Spoonbills come in for their evening dinner........ then the bugs arrived. We battened down the hatches, started the generator and ... Blogged.
Here are a few photos from the day.
